The principle of causality is a central principle in metaphysics that has been accepted by most philosophers from Greece to modern times. However, the discussions about the limits of this principle or how to explain or establish it have always been the subject of discussion among philosophers. One of the important issues in this debate is the self-evidence and Being unprovable of the principle of causality, which has been briefly discussed in Islamic philosophy in the context of Muslim philosophers' debates. It is necessary to mention that this discussion is seriously related to the interpretation of this principle by any philosopher. Despite all this, the point of view of the self-evidence of this principle and as a result its need for explanation, or its need for proof, has not been an issue that has been discussed in detail and independently as an independent topic in Islamic philosophy. This article tries to analyze and examine the principle of causality from the perspective of Islamic philosophy by focusing on Islamic philosophy. The result of this study will finally show that contrary to popular opinion, the self-evidence and being unprovable of this principle is debatable.
